Drainfield

Drain field is a versatile building material that is thoroughly washed gravel with a very smooth angular surface. This is very important because roughly textured stone will not be adequate to allow enough flow of wastewater to prevent the drain field to be flooded and push the wastewater through the topsoil.
Due to the nature of natural products, physical properties will vary (size, color, etc).

What you need to know about Drainfield

Drain field is a natural Florida limestone that is valued for its use in a variety of drainage techniques. Everglades partners with local suppliers of drain field that share our mission to promote environmentally sustainable harvesting of natural resources. We take great pride in protecting the environment, as a family owned and operated business, we understand that every transaction is a vote. Though primarily used for drain fields, this type of rock is also used for driveways and other decorative applications. Drain field gravel is also known commonly as #57 stone.

Drain field is a versatile building material that is thoroughly washed gravel with a very smooth angular surface. This is very important because roughly textured stone will not be adequate to allow enough flow of wastewater to prevent the drain field to be flooded and push the wastewater through the topsoil. The best size for drain field rock is between ¼ inch to 2 and ½ inch rock. Gravel is the ideal choice for drain fields due to its ability to withstand large amounts to weight without being crushed allowing it to support the weight of the septic tank and the rest of the septic system’s weight. The rock provides the structural supports for the trench and additional storage capacity during times of heavy flow. The drain field layer is also where the helpful bacteria that processes waste water lives.

Our customers use our drain field rock to build many times of structures. Due to its ability to support large amounts of weight drain field is often used to line and provide support for building paved driveways. When installed around and beneath concrete and asphalt, the layer of drain field allows runoff water to quickly drain helping your driveway handle distribution and drainage of large amounts of water. Landscapers often use drain field has an additive near the base layer of the landscape feature or garden they are designing. This layer allows the artificial feature that would have had insufficient drainage to be suitable for plants without the risk of suffocating the root systems of your plants. Drain field is not only a great building material it is also aesthetically attractive. It is a white and gray gravel that has a very smooth surface which is easy to clean and it lends itself to line walk ways because of its ability to stand up to wear. Some customers use it as an inorganic mulching option.

We are proud to provide our customers with high quality drain field. We sell our drain field by the 1/2 cubic foot bag or by the yard for those who have a large project.
